Grain de Sel Togo is a 501 organization incporated in 2013 in Athens, Georgia, by Dr. Brad K. Hounkpati, a Togolese Fulbright Scholar, and four others.
Registered as under Georgia (USA) Law, GDS. is dedicated to helping ambitious and talented but underprivileged students in public universities in Africa through scholarships and coaching. During the 2013-2014 academic year, GDS has offered scholarships to 4 of these students in two public universities of Togo.
As of January 2021, GDS has offered scholarships to 41 students in public universities in Kara and Lome (Togo), Bordeaux, France and in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso. Other students have been supported for the Master and doctoral Studies in Canada, France and in the US. Grain de Sel Togo provides technical and academic support to Fulbright scholars from Africa. GDS had organized two career development workshops in Lome, Togo.
We also serve as contact for all new Fulbright Grantees and other DOS Exchange Program Visitors from Togo and West Africa, and sometimes to International Students from Africa.
GDS is now established in France.
